Abstract

Ecotourism represents a sustainable approach to tourism that balances environmental conservation with economic development. This study examines the impact of ecotourism on Sariska Tiger Reserve in Rajasthan, India. The paper analyzes both positive and negative impacts, including economic growth, biodiversity conservation, environmental pressure, and human-wildlife conflict. Using secondary data, graphical analysis, and tabular representation, the study evaluates tourism trends from 2010 to 2022 and corresponding ecological responses. The findings reveal that ecotourism has significantly contributed to local livelihoods and conservation funding, but increasing tourist pressure has created measurable ecological stress, including habitat disturbance and altered wildlife behavior. The study concludes that sustainable management practices—such as carrying capacity control, community participation, and eco-friendly infrastructure—are essential for maintaining long-term ecological balance while continuing to derive economic benefits.
