Abstract

This research paper investigates the multifaceted effects of urbanization and tourism promotion on urban landscapes and consumer behaviors, with a concentrated case study on the Emirate of Dubai. The study explores the rapid urban development of Dubai, examining its impact on physical infrastructure, ecological environments, and socio-economic structures. Additionally, it analyzes how urbanization and tourism promotion influence consumer behaviors, including lifestyle choices, social interactions, and technological adoption. Through a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the dynamic interplay between urbanization, tourism, and urban living in one of the world's fastest-growing cities.

    Manju Bala is an accomplished Indian national with an impressive 18-year career spanning academia and industrial practice in Interior and Spatial Design. Her extensive international experience includes significant contributions across India, Middle East and the United Kingdom, showcasing her versatile expertise and commitment to excellence in the field.

    Currently, Manju is pursuing her PhD at the University of Liverpool, UK, with a campus placement in their Shanghai campus. Her multidisciplinary research focuses on the intersection of public spaces and tourism, positioning her as a leading expert not only in Urban Studies but also in the Hospitality sector. Her work explores how public spaces can enhance tourism experiences, contributing valuable insights to both academic and practical applications.
